Borderlands 4 Update Notes (October 9, 2025)
TL;DR: The latest Borderlands 4 update refreshes Weekly Activities, adjusts several pieces of Legendary gear, and fine-tunes balance based on community feedback.
Overview
This week’s Borderlands 4 patch focuses on smaller gear balance adjustments following last week’s major set of changes. Gearbox is closely monitoring Vault Hunter feedback and preparing a new round of system updates for next week that will improve build diversity and gameplay balance.
Next week’s patch will target Class Mods, Repkits, Shields, and Firmware items to boost melee viability and close performance gaps between Vault Hunters. It will also address unintended skill interactions and rebalance overperforming gear. Expect stability and performance improvements along with several highly requested quality-of-life fixes.
Restart your game after downloading this update to ensure all changes take effect and to prevent matchmaking errors.

Weekly Activities
- Weekly Big Encore Boss: Now features a tougher variant of an existing boss with an upgraded loot pool.
- Weekly Wildcard Mission: Changed to a new objective featuring a guaranteed Legendary drop for repeat farming.
- Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine: Moved to a new location with refreshed inventory.
Gear Balance Adjustments
- Ruby's Grasp damage increased by 50%
- Ruby's Grasp fire rate increased by 25%
- Bully drone damage increased by 50%
- Bully base damage increased by 50%
- Rangefinder base damage increased by 30%
- Queen's Rest spawn chance increased from 30% to 50%
- Queen's Rest fire rate increased by 50%
- Seventh Sense orb damage increased by 250%
- Hellwalker base damage increased by 30%
- Convergence base damage increased by 25%
Additional Changes
- Legendary Tediore Shotgun Anarchy now properly awards Stacks of Mutualism when auto-reloading or killing enemies.
- All class Pets (Trouble, Specters, Reapers, Forgeweapons, and others) now correctly gain Critical Hit Chance bonuses from Passives and Gear.
- Adjusted Vex the Siren’s Bleed to count as Status Effect Damage.

Maurice's Black Market Vendor is currently located in Dominion, within the Carcadia District.

Vex Community Challenge: Death 4 All
The Borderlands 4 community has already smashed past several challenges, unlocking skins like the "Savings Savior" for Rafa and the "Cult Classic" for Amon. This weekend, it’s Vex’s turn to take the spotlight.
From October 10–13, players must collectively complete 1,800,000 Ripper Drill Sites using Vex to earn the exclusive "Mass Market Appeal" Vault Hunter Skin.
There are six Ripper Drill Sites in Kairos. Once you locate one—or restart it using Moxxi’s Big Encore machine—you’ll need to survive multiple waves of enemies before facing off against a powerful boss. Use Vex’s supernatural abilities to tear through the chaos and help the community hit the target!
