Borderlands 4 Roadmap (PAX Australia): Horrors of Kairos, Bounty Pack 1 & Bloomreaper
Borderlands 4 Post-Launch Roadmap (PAX Australia): Horrors of Kairos, Bounty Pack 1 & Bloomreaper the Invincible
TL;DR: From the PAX Australia panel: Horrors of Kairos free mini-event runs Oct 23–Nov 6, the first paid Bounty Pack How Rush Saved Mercenary Day lands Nov 20, and Bloomreaper the Invincible plus a new Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode level arrive in December 2025. Big thanks to the millions of players — more performance improvements and content are on the way.
Overview
- Free Seasonal Mini-Event: Horrors of Kairos — Oct 23 to Nov 6
- Paid DLC: Bounty Pack 1: How Rush Saved Mercenary Day — Nov 20
- Free Endgame Update: Bloomreaper the Invincible + new UVHM level — December 2025
More content is planned into 2026, including the teaser for C4SH, the first of two new Vault Hunters in the paid Story Pack DLCs, and ongoing weekly Update Notes focused on performance and QoL (especially on PC).
Bounty Pack 1: How Rush Saved Mercenary Day (Nov 20)
How Rush Saved Mercenary Day is the first Bounty Pack in Borderlands 4: bite-sized narrative content with fresh loot, cosmetics, and an included Vault Card you can level through regular gameplay. It’s one of four Bounty Packs included in the Bounty Pack Bundle (in Deluxe and Super Deluxe Editions) and will also be available separately.
Premise
Rush (leader of the Outbounders) wants to bring festive Mercenary Day cheer to Kairos — but Screw, the Timekeeper’s Minister of Culture, prefers bland, homogenized “celebrations.” Across a set of new Main Missions, you’ll… persuade Screw otherwise — and pick up fresh Legendaries along the way.
Vault Card Rewards
The Bounty Pack 1 Vault Card includes 24 cosmetics and 4 pieces of rerollable gear (earnable indefinitely for perfect rolls). Full list:
- 4 Rerollable Weapons
- 4 Vault Hunter Heads (Vex, Rafa, Amon, Harlowe)
- 4 Vault Hunter Skins (Vex, Rafa, Amon, Harlowe)
- 5 Weapon Skins
- 5 Vehicle Skins
- 4 ECHO-4 Drone Skins
- 2 ECHO-4 Attachments
How Vault Cards Work
Activate the Vault Card from the ECHO menu to start earning extra loot and XP via Daily/Weekly challenges. Progression is XP-driven and never expires — explore, complete quests, and slay to level the Card at your own pace.
Extra Goodies in Bounty Pack 1
- 1 New Digirunner Vehicle (available shortly after starting the first Main Mission)
- 1 Vault Hunter Style for Vex, Rafa, Amon, Harlowe (unlocked after beating the boss & completing the final Main Mission)
- 1 ECHO-4 Drone Skin (unlocked after the final Main Mission)
How to Get Bounty Pack 1 on Nov 20
- Don’t own Borderlands 4 yet? Buy the Deluxe or Super Deluxe Edition (both include the Bounty Pack Bundle), or purchase the base game and the bundle separately.
- Already own Borderlands 4? Buy the Bounty Pack Bundle (includes BP1) or purchase Bounty Pack 1 individually.
Free Seasonal Mini-Event: Horrors of Kairos (Oct 23–Nov 6)
World boss fights get very spooky with terror-soaked blood rain and new Legendary drops added to boss rewards:
- “Murmur” Legendary Tediore Assault Rifle — executes weakened enemies with guaranteed crits under 35% health
- “Skully” Legendary Order Grenade — hunts the nearest target and fires deadly projectiles
Watch Borderlands’ social channels for limited-time SHiFT codes during the event, including the “Gourd Your Loins” (pumpkin) Vault Hunter Head (Vex, Rafa, Amon, Harlowe) and the “Hex Appeal” Weapon Skin usable on any gun.
Free Endgame Updates: Bloomreaper the Invincible + New UVHM Level (December 2025)
Think your build’s cracked? Meet Bloomreaper the Invincible, a raid-style boss with a huge health pool, lethal damage, and new modifiers that can shred under-prepared Vault Hunters. Reach its new arena, survive the onslaught, and you’ll have a chance at brand-new Legendaries.
This update also adds a new Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode level for increased difficulty and better endgame progression. (See our endgame overview in a future post.)
